No Fix - No Fee is the best way.
Some companies charge for diagnosis - up to £100+. They are then able to quote ridiculous prices for the repair because the diagnosis fee is already secured. A few of our customers sent their machines to manufacturers, paid a £100+ diagnosis fee and were quoted £600+ for the repair. They declined and came to us for a much more cost effective repair.

Other companies expect you to pay hourly rates. This is flawed logic as a good engineer takes less time to complete a repair than a bad one. It means you pay extra for their incompetence. One minute over the hour and you pay for and extra hour, why?? Worse still, they expect you to pay even when they don't fix your laptop.

Most laptops have a built in modem. The Acer modem electronics are sometimes on the motherboard or on a separate card. If your Acton modem has failed then the first piece of equipment to check is the modem cable. Connecting another modem to the line may help to eliminate any line faults. We can supply internal modem boards for most Acton laptops. Machines with faulty onboard modems might have to resort to a PCMCIA. The CPU is the brain of your XPS laptop. Laptops mostly use mobile versions of processors. These Acton work on lower voltages and generate less than desktop versions. Most laptops use Intel or AMD processors. Intel Centrino processors are specially designed for laptop computing and maximise battery life. Processors are usually Acton damaged by fan and heat sink failure - they can Acton overheat and be permanently damaged. Poor heat transfer from the CPU to the heat sink can also cause Advent laptops to crash or freeze intermittently.
