No Fix - No Fee is the best way.
Some companies charge for diagnosis - up to £100+. They are then able to quote ridiculous prices for the repair because the diagnosis fee is already secured. A few of our customers sent their machines to manufacturers, paid a £100+ diagnosis fee and were quoted £600+ for the repair. They declined and came to us for a much more cost effective repair.

Other companies expect you to pay hourly rates. This is flawed logic as a good engineer takes less time to complete a repair than a bad one. It means you pay extra for their incompetence. One minute over the hour and you pay for and extra hour, why?? Worse still, they expect you to pay even when they don't fix your laptop.

Most of the Harrow outer case of a laptop is made of plastic. These parts include hinge covers, palm rest assemblies, base plastics, drive bezels, switch panels, screen back and screen front bezels. Most Harrow brand manufactures are happy to supply these parts, others don’t supply any and we have to rely on used and pulled parts. Customers are often surprised by the cost of plastics - you have to take into Harrow account the stock control, administration and shipping costs involved in supplying small plastics. Typically, plastics can cost from £40-£100. There are many cables within your Qosmio laptop. There may be cables to connect the floppy drive, hard drive, display, inverter and CD Drive. Most cables have no problems. The inverter/display cable can have wear and tear problems. That cable is flexed every time the screen lid is opened and shut. A lot of Lifebook cables get damaged when customer decide to dismantle their laptops. Cables are designed to be removed from their connectors by pulling the connector out - NOT YANKING THE WIRE. Many manufactures are now refusing to supply cables that connect the LCD to the motherboard - apparently the whole screen needs to be replaced(?). Be very careful with those cables.

A write-enabled, diagnostic diskette is required. Make sure that the diskette does not have more than one label attached to it. Multiple labels can cause damage to the drive or cause the drive to fail. If an error occurs with the internal diskette drive, reconnect the diskette connector on the system board.If the error still remains reconnect the external diskette drive/DVD-ROM module and replace the external diskette drive/CD-ROM module. A lot of Tiny systems are being sent to us for software problems caused by Viruses. It is essential to protect your Tiny laptops using the latest versions of anti-virus software and update the pattern files at least once a week. Most Harrow anti-virus systems will automatically check if updated pattern files are available - always elect to get the updated files when asked. Most Harrow viruses will attempt to modify the system registry - use registry protection to prevent unwanted modifications.
