All laptops have a hinge joint between the screen and the keyboard part of the laptop. Some hinges routinely fail - eg the dell Inspiron and the Compaq Presario. Other hinges can be damaged by dropping the laptop. Some manufactures refuse to sell the hinges and insist that the hinge is an integral part of the screen and as such the whole screen should be replaced. We can usually supply working hinges from new and used machines we break up for spare parts. Operating system not found errors are usually caused by having a non-bootable CD or floppy in a boot drive. It may also be caused by a faulty Tiny hard drive or system boardIf nothing appears on the Toshiba LCD screen you may have switched the output to an external screen or the Toshiba laptop may be in sleep mode.
