The output of an HP inverter is controlled by the motherboard and software. Signals from the Acer motherboard determine the on/off and brightness levels of the CCFL. Motherboard failures can prevent the Ashford CCFL from lighting the LCD screen. It is very important to determine which part has caused the backlight failure before ordering expensive Ashford inverter boards. Most suppliers will not welcome a returned part if it does not cure your problem after supplying a correct and working part. The motherboard is the main circuit board in your Ashford laptop.
