No Fix - No Fee is the best way.
Some companies charge for diagnosis - up to £100+. They are then able to quote ridiculous prices for the repair because the diagnosis fee is already secured. A few of our customers sent their machines to manufacturers, paid a £100+ diagnosis fee and were quoted £600+ for the repair. They declined and came to us for a much more cost effective repair.

Other companies expect you to pay hourly rates. This is flawed logic as a good engineer takes less time to complete a repair than a bad one. It means you pay extra for their incompetence. One minute over the hour and you pay for and extra hour, why?? Worse still, they expect you to pay even when they don't fix your laptop.

Power on the computer using each of the following power sources: Remove the battery pack.Connect the power adapter and check that power is supplied. Disconnect the power adapter and install the charged battery pack; then check that power is supplied by the battery pack. If you suspect a power problem. We usually advise against these repairs. We are an HP electronics repair company and firmly believe that "if it works leave it alone". Minor scratches and cracks on the body are not worth repairing. Most customer approach us for cosmetics repairs when they are about to sell the laptop - it is usually more cost effective to accept a lower price for the damaged laptop than to get it repaired and sell it.

USB Test Error. An error occurs when a USB I/O device is installed. Check if the USB device is installed properly. Worth trying another USB device or charge board.
