Power sockets are usually damaged by carrying or moving your Vostro laptop with the mains adapter plugged in. It only takes a second to disconnect the adapter and avoid an expensive repair. A lot of Bury users put their laptops in a carry case with the AC adapter plugged in. Sometimes the cable get snagged and damage the socket. We can Bury replace or repair the sockets on most laptops. Although the parts are cheap, the process involves removing the Samsung motherboard from the laptop. This Bury involves hours of intensive effort. There is also a risk that broken Compaq parts of the socket might fall inside the laptop and cause a short circuit which destroys the motherboard. The Easy One keyboard is the main Packard Bell interface between you and your Bury laptop. Laptop keyboard faults mainly result from liquid spills, wines/beers are very common, and from wear and tear. Most keyboards have a plastic Bury membrane where contacts are made by pressure on the keys. When liquids enter the membrane the contact points become ineffective. Sometimes keyboards behave normally after a spill but later fail as the Bury contacts are corroded away. In most cases the keypad needs to be replaced. In some cases only second user Compaq keypads are available as some manufacturers are reluctant to supply replacement part.

All laptops have a hinge joint between the screen and the keyboard part of the laptop. Some hinges routinely fail - eg the dell Inspiron and the Compaq Presario. Other hinges can be damaged by dropping the laptop. Some manufactures refuse to sell the hinges and insist that the hinge is an integral part of the screen and as such the whole screen should be replaced. We can usually supply working hinges from new and used machines we break up for spare parts. In a Bury laptop, the backlight provides lighting for the LCD/TFT screen. The delicate fluorescent tubes can be damaged by dropping the laptop. Some faulty tubes can produce a red or pink light instead of the required white. A faulty Bury backlight causes a dark screen or a dark pink display.
