Most laptops have a built in modem. The HP modem electronics are sometimes on the motherboard or on a separate card. If your East Hertfordshire modem has failed then the first piece of equipment to check is the modem cable. Connecting another modem to the line may help to eliminate any line faults. We can supply internal modem boards for most East Hertfordshire laptops. Machines with faulty onboard modems might have to resort to a PCMCIA. There are many cables within your Easy One laptop. There may be cables to connect the floppy drive, hard drive, display, inverter and CD Drive. Most cables have no problems. The inverter/display cable can have wear and tear problems. That cable is flexed every time the screen lid is opened and shut. A lot of Evo cables get damaged when customer decide to dismantle their laptops. Cables are designed to be removed from their connectors by pulling the connector out - NOT YANKING THE WIRE. Many manufactures are now refusing to supply cables that connect the LCD to the motherboard - apparently the whole screen needs to be replaced(?). Be very careful with those cables.

A lot of Packard Bell systems are being sent to us for software problems caused by Viruses. It is essential to protect your Packard Bell laptops using the latest versions of anti-virus software and update the pattern files at least once a week. Most East Hertfordshire anti-virus systems will automatically check if updated pattern files are available - always elect to get the updated files when asked.
